The traditional domain forecasts on RoadMaster are powered by the RWIS station forecasts within those domains, and simply reflect the ‘worst case’ from those stations. The RBF is dynamic, with much higher resolution, and so can pick out warm/cold spots along the route which cannot be determined by simply using a few RWIS station forecasts. Thus, the two are not directly comparable.
